Ocala - Mr. Steven Paul "Steve" Mears, age 54, of Ocala, Florida, passed away on Monday, November 9, 2009 at Munroe Regional Medical Center. He was born in Wichita, Kansas and moved to Ocala in 2005 from Cape Coral, Florida. Steve spent most of his life as a Heavy Machinery Welder. He loved fishing, hunting, NASCAR racing, coaching football, baseball and softball, but most of all loved spending time with his loving family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of (28) years, Jennifer Mears of Ocala, FL.; his daughter, Jessica R. Mears of Jacksonville, FL.; his on, Justin P. Mears of Ft. Myers, FL .; his (2) brothers, Dennis Mears of Ft. Myers, FL. and Kelly Mears of Clayton, AL.; his (2) sisters, Susan Meier of Pine Island, FL. and Kathy Marceau of Ft. Myers, FL.; also his loving parents, Francis and Jean Mears of Clayton, AL. The family has requested a Private Family Service. The family also request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Marion County, 701 N.W. 14th Road, Ocala, FL 34475, in memory of Mr. Steven Paul "Steve" Mears.
