NORMAN GIFFIN Obituary
Ocala - Norman L. Giffin, 90, of Ocala, Florida, passed away on June 28, 2012 at Legacy House. Born in Nunn, Colorado, on September 24, 1921, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII, and afterwards, became an opera singer. As a dramatic tenor in Europe, he performed in many operas, but specialized in Wagnerian works, such as Tannhauser and Lohengrin. In the U.S., he performed with The Metropolitan Opera in NYC, and was a featured player in the 1966 premier performance of the company at Lincoln Center. He is survived by his wife, Ursel; brother, Aldon and sister, Kahla Barnaby; sons, Randy, Bruce, and Christian; daughters, Janet Muncy and Deborah Eldridge; 15 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Legacy House, Ocala.
