Freimuth Ibis

Freimuth (Fred) Ibis, formerly of Prince George, BC, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at the Nanaimo General Hospital Pallative Care Unit. Born on March 15, 1933, in the little village of Sgon, in Masuria (Germany), he immigrated on his own to Canada in the 1950s. He was a loving, devoted husband for 47 years to Jutta Ibis (nee Hebold) until his death. He was a wonderful, caring father to Carolyn, Philip, and Monica. He was a very caring Father-in-Law to Christina Tribe. He was especially proud to be an Opa to his grandson, Aaron Ibis-Tribe. He really loved spending time in the great outdoors.

While living in in Prince George, he liked to hunt, hike, and fish at places like the McGregor Mountains, Chilcotin, Papoose Lake and Francois Lake. This love was passed down to all of his children! He worked for many years at the Northwood Pulp Mill until he retired in 1995 and was known to many people in the Prince George area. He spent the last 18 years living in Qualicum Beach and spent his days salmon fishing. He will be missed by his family and all of his friends.
