Claudine Conrad Obituary

Conrad, Claudine LaVerne (Lawler)

Claudine LaVerne (Lawler) Conrad, 90, Lena, passed away at home on April 22, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 9, 1926 to the late Robert and Hazel (Renier) Lawler in Oconto, Wisconsin. She married Richard Conrad on September 3, 1956 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Lena.

Claudine attended Couillardville and Sunnybrook Grade Schools and graduated from Lena High School in 1944. She worked for auctioneer Col. J. A. Sasman, the Coleman Canning Factory, Allen's Red Owl, Baumgart's Variety store, the Lena High School kitchen, and Mathey and Son's (for 26 years).

Richard and Claudine operated a farm in the Lena area where she resided until the time of her death. She was a devoted mother to her three children, Kathy, Bob and Tina.

Claudine enjoyed the Christmas season, crafting, mowing the lawn, theme parties, writing poems, spending time with her children, and long conversations.

Claudine is survived by her three children, Kathy (Jon) Simonar of New Franken; Bob (Laurie) Conrad of Green Bay; and Tina (Bryan) Walker of Green Bay; a granddaughter Ashley Walker (fiancé Ryan Hoheneder) of Green Bay; a sister Beverly Lawler of Lena; a brother John "Jack" (Christine) Lawler of Lena; a sister-in-law Marion Walls; a brother-in-law Joe Kopke; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Richard, her parents, her father and mother-in-law, and all of Richard's siblings.

Per Claudine's wishes, private family services will be held with Deacon Peter Gard officiating. Entombment will be at Fort Howard Memorial Park Mausoleum in Green Bay. The Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home of Lena is assisting the family. Online condolences may be expressed at:

Claudine thanks the following people for their constant assistance so she could remain independent in her own home: her sister Beverly Lawler, brother Jack Lawler, nephew John Lawler (who she considered her bonus child), friend Mike Kowalczyk, and her children. She also thanks everyone for their prayers.

The family would like to thank the staff at St. Vincent's Hospital, Unity Hospice and the Coleman Rescue Squad. They would also like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Bruce Fenster, Dr. Richard Timmons, Dr. Steven Gerndt, Dr. Charles Hejny, and Dr. Tyson Schwiesow for their compassionate care throughout the years.
