Neta Herman Obituary
Neta M. Herman, 77, of New Franklin, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2014.
Born in Harrisville, W. Va., she had been a New Franklin area resident for over 54 years. Neta retired from Akron General Medical Center as an RN with 42 years of service.
Preceded in death by her husband, Gary; mother, Virginia Craft; and brother, Alva Cox; she is survived by son, Jeff (Michelle) Herman; grandson, Cody Herman; sisters, Doris Sheffler and Hilda "Tootsie" McBride; good friend, Jim Senff; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held SATURDAY, December 27, 2014, at 12 p.m. Noon, at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 E. Cherry St. (Rt. 93), Canal Fulton, Rod Grabski officiating. Burial at Manchester Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. SATURDAY. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the American Heart Association, 3505 Embassy Parkway, Suite 100 Akron, OH 44333 or a charity of one's choice. www.swigarteasterlingfuneralhome.com

I met Neta in 1967 when I was a student nurse. She taught me the subtle differences between similar instruments and showed me how a professional carries herself with poise during stressful moments in the OR. She was a sharp nurse, a terrific role model and an easy going mentor with a great sense of humor. I am grateful for how she impacted me and my career and am among many who can say that. We have lost a good and caring person. I'll miss you, Neta!
