Eleanor M. Gribble

Eleanor M. Gribble, 84, our special lady, lover, friend, Moth er, and Grandmother, now at peace and without pain, went home to be with our Lord on Sept. 27, 2004, at the Visiting Nurse Service Hospice in Copley, Ohio.

She was born in Cleve land, Ohio, and graduated from John Hayes High School. She attended Montrose Zion United Methodist Church, where she volunteered, ushered, and was a circle leader. She was a past president of Fort Island PTA, past treasurer of the American Legion Post 473 Auxiliary, Elec tion Board presiding judge, and a member of the Silver Arrows in Cleveland. Eleanor worked for 25 years with her husband and son at Business Forms Man agement as office manager. Af ter retiring, she and husband Bill enjoyed traveling, often to World War II Air Force reunions.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Rose; brother, Ted; and sisters, Rose and Marge. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Bill; chil dren, Bill (Eve) Gribble, Greg (Hanna) Gribble, and Mary (Chuck) Askew; grandchildren, Derek, Lorna, Jeanenne, Shayne, Lennon, Sarah, and Logan; and nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the many caregivers dur ing her illness.

Calling hours will be TODAY, Sept. 30, 2004, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Hummel Funeral Home, 3475 Copley Rd., COPLEY. A memorial service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mont rose Zion United Methodist Church, 565 Cleveland-Massillon Rd., Dr. James E. McClaren and Dr. Walter Chisolm officiat ing. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Visiting Nurse Hospice in Copley, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, Ohio 44333.
