My condolences go out to the Goosby Family. Mr Goosby was a true mentor and uplifting spirit. He gave me my first job in Akron 32 years ago at the James A Rhodes Area. It was new at the time and I was a first year graduate student at the University of Akron. He was always encouraging to me and several others. He will be missed.

Years and years ago I met Tom and Dave Robinson and a friend and I enjoyed pairing up with them for a round of golf at Good Park. We had a great time..... And got to enjoy a lot of great stories they shared. It was only a handful of hours but a memory I've never forgotten. My sympathies to all who are grieving this loss.

I sure had a great time with Tom In the 70s and 80s. I worked for WKDD radio and I handled concert venues for the radio station. Tom was in charge of EJ Thomas Hall and a scout for the Dallas Cowboys. Our personalities clicked. Once, we spent a week in northern Ontario on a fly-in fishing trip to some unknown island. We caught plenty of walleye and northern pike. I have his picture in my living room! What a man! I loved Tom and please pass along my deepest sympathy! God Bless!

I am very sorry to hear this news. Tom was a dear friend who I got to know at the downtown Akron YMCA - where he held court! I very much enjoyed hanging out with Tom at the Y and hearing all his stories and soaking up his good advice and wisdom. He kept us all laughing and was an inspiration on how to live healthy and he was a positive role model to me. Goose was cool and I will miss him. It will never be the same in the Gold Locker room at the downtown Y. In these hard days we need more guys like the Goose! I hope your knees and back are finally at rest - Godspeed Goose!

Tex - My deepest condolences. I met Tom when I worked at Maple Valley Drug for Bob Horning. I played a lot of racquetball with Tom at the Y and used to see him on the golf course once in a while. Fantastic guy with a heart as big as any person I have ever met. Our loss and Heavens gain.
