Helen Nixon Obituary

Helen Brown Nixon, 90, died June 9, 2011 surrounded by her family.

She was born May 7, 1921 to Mason and Louise (Dawney) Brown of Vanceburg, Ky. She married her husband Boyd of Wadsworth in 1942. During World War II she helped build airplanes at the Goodyear Airdock, while Boyd served in the Navy. She worked as a radio operator for the Ohio Division of Wildlife before becoming an executive secretary for the Engineering Dept. at the Backcock and Wilcox Co., retiring in 1974 to Las Vegas with Boyd. They returned to Ohio in 1993 living in Dalton for many years. She loved shopping, flowers and the color pink. A loving mother and grandmother, she was a generous and caring friend to all!

Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Boyd in 2009; brothers, Raymond, Ralph, and Donald; sisters, Delores and Eloise; and great granddaughter, Kaylee. Helen is survived by son, Jack (Gloria) Nixon of Scottsdale, Arizona; daughter, Carolyn (Phil) Kaster of Canal Fulton; grandsons, Scott (Tamara) Nixon of Naples, Fla., Dr. Jason Kaster of Ft. Myers, Fla., Dr. Brad Kaster of Portage Lakes; granddaughters, Lynn Watson and Elizabeth (Jason) Into of Wadsworth; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Anne Nixon, Gladys Brown and Edith Studer, along with many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 13, 2011 at Cox Funeral Home, 1376 High St. (1 mile N of I-76 on St. Rt. 94) in Wadsworth. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. COX, WADSWORTH, 330-335-3311
