James Riedinger Obituary
Born in Randolph Twp.-Tallmadge, he was a life resident of the area. Mr. Riedinger was a school teacher for 52 years, retiring in 1992 after 41 years in the Akron Public School system. During retirement, he supervised student teachers through Kent State University. Jim was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he taught CCD classes for 22 years and was a Parish Council member for 15 years. He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. His leisure activities included playing euchre, having brunch with his retired friends, and church attendance.
Preceded in death by sister and brother-in-law, Irene and Russell Carlson and grandson, Nathan Miller, Jim is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dolores; daughters, Amy (Fred) Miller of Uniontown and Laura (Jeffrey) Sol of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Alyssa and Ethan Miller and Alice Sol; numerous nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, 11:30 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2643 Waterloo Rd., Randolph, OH 44260, with Father Edward R. Wieczorek celebrating. PROCESSION WILL FORM AT THE CHURCH. Burial at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 34 S. Cleveland Ave., MOGADORE, from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic School, 2617 Waterloo Rd., Randolph, OH 44260; or the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 15120, Chicago, IL 60693.

Memories and Condolences

As a member of Summit County Retired Teachers Association, I sent a sympathy card to the family of James Reidinger. It was returned. He was a member of the Association. We extend our sympathy on his passing. We will have a luncheon/memorial service the first Monday in November for 2012 deceased members. James will be remembered. Dear Family,
I was fortunate enough to be in Mr. Riedinger's class and he was also our senior class advisor. He was my favorite. He kept the government class interesting with his anecdotes and insight. I told him this when I graduated. I just wish I had told him again in later years. Keeping you all in my prayers at this time.

I was so lucky to know Mr. Riedinger “Jim” as a teacher and as Uncle Bills Brother-in-Law. As a teacher he was truly wonderful he loved what he was teaching and in my opinion because of that he made it so interesting for us. Knowing him outside of school, he was funny, laid back and always, always had a smile for you. Class of 1970
