Shannon Nelson Obituary

Shannon Amedeo Nelson, 42, went to be with our Lord on Jan. 10, 2012. She is survived by her wonderful son, Vince Lockett (16); husband, Steve Nelson; parents, Sonjia Thomas and Joe (Rita) Amedeo; brother, Matt (Darlene) Amedeo; nephew, Adam Amedeo; and niece, Brooke Amedeo.

Shannon graduated from Kent State Univ. with a B.S. in Early Education. She worked in Childcare for many years.

The memorial service and dinner will be Jan. 19th at 1:30 p.m. at Lockwood Church, 3680 Manchester Rd. In lieu of flowers, please make any donations to the Vince Lockett College Fund, 222 Crescent Dr., Akron, OH 44301.

Matt and Family,

I'm so sorry. Shannon was my very best friend for so many years. Most of my greatest, funniest, craziest memories from childhood include her. I tried to get back in touch with her over the past ten years, but I didn't try hard enough and now I'm so sorry. We always think there's enough time. Vince, you were the light of your mom's life.
