James Frohnapfel Obituary

James P. Frohnapfel

James P. Frohnapfel, 89, born in Akron and a long time resident of Prospect, Ill., died July 4, 2014 in Chicago, Ill.

Jim was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He served in the U.S. Navy as an aviation mechanic on the USS Suwannee and Boxer aircraft carriers.

Preceded in death by wife, Pat and son, Tom, he is survived by daughter, Claire Carlson; grandchildren, Ryan (Casey) Erin (Larry) Gualano and Kevin; brothers, John (Geri), Luke (Marylou); sisters, Joan Spenoso, Louise Wagner, Ramona Hull, Alice Ryne, Charlotte (Walt) Evans, Grace Cahill; and many nieces and nephews.

Dear Claire, It was such a privilege to have known your dad for a short time. I met him as a volunteer at the VA, and so enjoyed hearing his stories of both wars and his love for you and your family. I am so sorry for your loss. May Gold bless you and your children during this difficult time.
