Michael Heggedus Obituary
Michael W. Heggedus (Combs) "Jammer", age 45, died unexpectedly on February 16, 2015.
Born in Akron, he lived in Mogadore most of his life, and graduated from Mogadore High School in 1988. Michael was employed with Cuyahoga Falls Replacement Windows for 27 years as Joe's right hand man. Music was his life. As a member of three tribute bands, The Nightmare (an Alice Cooper tribute band), The Dream Police (a Cheap Trick tribute band) and Eddie (an Iron Maiden tribute band), he loved being on stage. Michael was able to meet several of his musical heroes over the years. He loved to reminisce, and could spend hours talking about music on the phone. Michael recently performed in two Indie films. Upon meeting someone for the first time, his favorite question was always, "Who's your top three bands of all time?" He would then share his own answer - Triumph, Y&T and Survivor.
Always loveable and likeable, Michael was always ready to help others in any way he could. He loved watching the Dallas Cowboys and classic TV shows, and enjoyed golfing. Most of all, Michael cherished his wife, mom, dad and his animals.
He is now with his Grandpa, who preceded him in death; and is survived by his wife and best friend, Helen; parents, Bill and Sharon Combs; and an enormous amount of family, friends and fans who will miss him greatly.
Feel free to wear jeans and your favorite concert shirt - Michael would love that - on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 34 S. Cleveland Avenue (Route 532), MOGADORE, Ohio 44260, where a time of sharing will be held at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. WNIR the talk radio had a caller Thursday March 5th that talked about how Mike died an early death but was such an outstanding musician. Mike was loved by many.

I just learned of Mike's passing, he was a great friend and band mate. My thoughts are with Helen and the rest of his friends. Heaven just gained another great rocker and new angel!

Being in the Mogadore Band, Mike and Steven and the rest of the band were one BIG family.
We went everywhere with the band including Walt Disney in Florida. We just thought of Mike as part of our family. He was always happy with a big smile on his face. He will be greatly missed!!

Wow! Jammer was such a nice guy. He visited us at the Quonset Hut all the time and hung out and talked about music. Really sad such a nice guy has passed so young. R.I.P Jammer, your friend Dee

I didn't know Mike, but when I read his obituary this morning I was thrilled to see that one of his three top bands of all times is Y&T. My cousin Dave Meniketti is one of Y&T's founding members; he will be honored to learn that Mike held him and his band in such high regard. Nancy Marrone

Dear Sharon & Bill,
Great sorrow here at learning of Michael's passing. My fond memories of him are when he and my kids were little. He was such a sweet little boy. The wonderful things being said about him as a man are a tribute to your parenting efforts. May the angels' wings enfold you in comfort and may fond memories sustain you in the days ahead. He was a remarkable person who made a remarkable imprint on this world. He lives on in our hearts.

So sorry for your loss! Mike was such a GREAT GUY!!! Every time I saw him he always had a smile on his face and always was so happy.
Always made me smile because anytime Mike and Robbie were together, Mike always wanted the two of them to do a wrestling move, like when they were young, didn't matter if at a party or in public, they did it!
He will be greatly missed! Love and prayers go out to his family.
