Casey Versteeg

Casey Lee Versteeg, 56, died at home Dec. 23, 2010 after a battle with cancer. He was born Nov. 27, 1954 in Des Moines, IA to Ada Blanch and Henry ''Larry'' Versteeg. After completing an Auto Mechanic Training program at Des Moines Area Comm. College he went on to work in IA, CA and OK with his final place of employment at the City of Midwest City Fleet Maint. Casey took great pride in his work and attained the level of Nissan Master Tech and was ASE and EVT Certified. He could fix anything mechanical. Casey greatly enjoyed riding dirt bikes, owning and showing horses, playing guitars, and racing RC cars and planes. He was a loved husband and father leaving behind his wife of 19 years, Cheryl, daughter Bobbi Tilton of Sacramento, CA, son Casey Joel of Oxnard, CA, daughter Brianna and son Alexander of Arcadia, OK, mother Ada Blanch of Kansas, OK, and sister Donna Heaton of Murrieta, CA. He is preceded in death by his daughter Lisa, father Larry, brother Otis ''Dutch'', and sister Terry Long. A Memorial will be held Thursday Jan. 6, 2011 at the Midwest City Nick Harroz Community Center from 3-5pm. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society or the Companion Hospice Foundation.
