GILFORD ROAT Obituary

"Butch" RoatJuly 21, 1943 - May 29, 2015 OKLAHOMA CITY Gilford Eugene "Butch" Roat went to be with the Lord on May 29, 2015 at the age of 71. Butch will be remembered for his big personality and his even bigger heart. Butch was born on July 21, 1943 in New Albaney, KS to Gilford and Florence (Russell) Roat. He was married to the love of his life Karyn Roat on January 28, 1983. He was preceded in death by his son Gary, two brothers and parents. He is survived by his wife Karyn, daughter Kendra Roat and husband Glenn, son Mark Roat and wife Jenny, 3 step-sons Doyle Cantrell, Keyth Howry and David Alexander, 5 grandchildren Kasha Skinner, Brandon Skinner, Ethan Roat, Shyloh Howry, Mykah Howry and great grandson Kai Skinner. 2 sisters and 1 brother May Shinkle, Marie Starmer, and Bud Roat. Butch worked for TG&Y Co. Stores for 17 years, Bob Howard Auto Mall, and Mercedes Benz of Oklahoma City. His smile and outgoing personality will be missed by all. A come and go memorial service and reception will be held at Creekside Chapel and Gardens at 15500 N. Western between 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, June 14.
