First met John when he umpired our youth games at Brown Park. Admired him when he played QB at NU. Soaked up his football knowledge when I became a coach. RIP my friend.

Sherry, Scott and Kelly,
Those of us that had the privilege and honor to be around your family were given a gift. John has had a huge influence on me and how I teach and coach after forty three years of teaching and coaching. He had a way of getting the most out of people. I still marvel at how he did it! Sometimes when you are given a gift that you can't repay all you can say is thank you. Thank you John and Sherry Faiman. John was a positive force that caused a ripple effect felt by so many. He will continue to motivate and inspire us.

Sherry, Scott, and Kelly,

I am deeply saddened to learn about John's passing. I have very fond memories of my two years of coaching with John and learned a great deal from him, not only about football but about working with young people. His sense of humor and desire to reach out and help others will be among the many attributes that I will always remember. My thoughts are with the three of you, your families, and all who are hurting about this loss.

Sherry, Scott, Kelly and the entire Faiman family,
Holly and I extend our deepest sympathy, thoughts and prayers to all of you during this very sad and difficult time. I was privileged to have worked with John and to be a part of the family of coaches. He was a great man on and off the field; he gave real meaning to the word Coach. I thank God for the time I worked with John, I am a better man for it. God bless the Faiman's and God bless John.

John always gave this advice to his athletes- Family is #1, school is #2, and sports are #3, in that order of priority. That simple advice has helped guide my career when I worked with kids. He was a wise and caring man and good friend. Rest in Peace Coach.
