I found myself think Dr. Lundell a couple of days ago. I always appreciated his wit, strong will and easy personality. He was a very faithful servant of God and made no excuses for faith. I truly hope you have all the peace you deserve. You are still missed.

Paul was our friend and spiritual leader for many years. We remember fondly his warmth and the depth of his messages about the Christian way of life. He married us in 1965 and remained our friend until his death. He is forever with me and my husband.

LaVonne, David, Barbara and Families
I hope you will see this rememberance of your dear Paul. Although we have had some visits and a time to reminisce since the early 1950'in Ladoga, those are the memories that will always be with us crystal clear.
The newly ordained, The Reverand Paul M. Lundell, young and so nervous as he counselled an equally young and nervous couple and flawlessly and beautifully married them 60 years ago on June 30th,1951. Soon we met you LaVonne, in our little apartment on Main Street. Christmas letters kept us connected for 59 years as you married, were blessed with David and Barbara and Paul gained the confidence and faith he needed to lead others so well. We treasure the "Lift for Life" E-mails since his retirement--another way to stay connected. He always made us "think" and evaluate our lives.
Although the Davises, and Joe's parents are not here to express their sympathy to your family, we know they would want us to include them in our expression of joy that Paul was part of our lives. "May God bless you and keep you; may His light shine upon you and bring you peace"

David we appreciate receiving the news regarding your dad's passing and were sorry to receive the news. Your dad was a friend, an advisor and a fellow memeber of the Omaha Rotary Club. I was the GM of the Omaha Royals Baseball Club for 30 years and Cubs baseball was always a topic whenever we played the Des Moines Club. What a blessing that your father was able to cross paths with so many during his life.

We send our deepest condolences to the Lundells, LaVonne, David, Barbara and their families. Paul was our pastor at Palos Park Presbyterian in Palos Park, Illinois for about 15 years. We were married at the church and Paul baptized our son Charlie and confirmed our daughter Susan. Even though we moved quite a distance, we still attended Sunday services every week due to Paul's sermons. We didn't want to miss hearing one as we always found a wonderful message to take with us. We had a deep respect for Paul -- he was such a wonderful person.
When Paul and LaVonne decided to move to Omaha, Chuck was interested to learn it was to Dundee Presbyterian in Omaha -- the same church where Chuck was confirmed. Different occasions brought us to Omaha and delightedly gave us the chance to visit with them and view some of the beautiful artwork by LaVonne.
They have been very special to us and we will keep Paul and LaVonne in our prayers, hearts and minds forever.

I have many happy memories of my brother, Paul, from our days as kids on the South Side of Chicago and our Junior and senior High days in Northbrook, Illinois. Dad (Rev, Harry Paul Lundell) was pastor of the Northbrook Presbyterian Church and spent 30 years building a congregation from 90 members to close to 3000 members. He was greatly aided in his pastoral work by our mother, Elsie, who bore four children; Paul Mauritz, John Harry, Mae Ruth and Lowell Lawrence. He was a role model for all four of his children, but particularly for Paul, who chose to follow in his footsteps. After graduating from Lake Forest College and McCormick Presbyterian Seminary in 1950, he served Presbyterian churches in Ladoga, Indiana, Petersburg, Illinois, Palos Park, Illinois and the Dundee Presbyterian Church in Omaha, Nebraska. He was greatly assisted in serving these congregations by LaVonne, his loving and faithful companion of 59 years. Their marriage was graced by the birth of a son, David, in 1954 and a daughter, Barbara, in 1956. My wife, Coralyn, and I visited Paul and LaVonne a number of times over the years, and we are very happy to have visited them last July, after a Lundell family reunion in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I will have lasting memories of our visit to their home at The Glen. LaVonne, David and Barbara, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.

I am saddened for the loss of this wonderful man. His friendship, guidance, wisdom and loving support in a large part helped to mold the person I am today. His spiritual guidance and insights, and the example that he unfailing set for all who knew him, will continue to live on in my heart forever. He will be dearly missed.
My deepest, heartfelt condolences to LaVonne and the Lundell family.

Cousin Paul will be missed by so many people. One thing I enjoyed about him was his sense of humor and the joy he brought to our family reunions. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers, especially today (Friday). When the Harry Lundell family came from Chicago to Northern Minnesota, it was always a big occasion and I so enjoyed my slightly older cousins Paul and John, and Mae when she came with them. Lowell was a cute little boy back then. God bless all of you and I would bet they are having a grand reunion on the other side. Special love goes to you, LaVonne.

Joannie and I so appreciate the warm and genuine friendship we enjoyed with Paul and Lavonne when I served as his successor at Dundee. His support and genuine partnership was a rare gift and example for anyone in pastoral ministry.
We praise God for Paul finishing strong and for the sure words of affirmation, "Well done good and faithful servant."

LaVonne and family,
I was saddened to learn of Dr. Lundell's death. He was a wonderful friend, encourager and mentor and will be greatly missed. When I was in seminary, we started a habit of having lively email and in-person discussions about theology and other issues, including the practical aspects of ministry. I will miss him deeply and will be thinking of him and all of you during the time of the memorial service. I am sorry that I will not be there in person to celebrate the life of a man who has meant so very much to me.
Good-bye Paul, with heartfelt gratitude for your presence in my life, "Timothy"

News of Dr. Paul Lundell's passing was a shock despite my knowing of his failing health. I knew Dr. Paul for only a short time, but I learned to love and respect him for his compassion, his wisdom, and his humor. My sincerest condolences to LaVonne and the family. I too shall miss him. Rest in peace, dear friend.

Paul made a huge impact on my life as a high school student, when he and Lavonne moved to the Petersburg, Il Presbyterian Church in the early 1950's. Our "youth" group still remarks on the outstanding programs he organized for young people. My mother and father, Tom and Margaret Bergen, were inspired by his ministry. Paul was a true leader in the Presbyterian Faith. My prayers are with Lavonne, David, Barbara and the rest of the family. Barbara Barnes, Elder, San Clemente CA Presbyterian Church

It's hard to put into words how much Dr. Lundell meant to me & my personal Christian growth (confirmation class '91). During those years when not a lot sticks inside a very young man's head, I've found many of his stories & examples that still in my conscience & applicable to my adult life. He was a blessing to many of us.

In my years at Dundee, Paul was consistently a person who offered me great encouragement and wisdom. His faith was resolute and his compassion was generous. Deepest and most heart felt condolences to Lavonne, Barbara and David and their entire family.
Dr. Lundell was a very special pastor, friend and collegue with my father, Rev. Raymond Molander, and our family. My brother John and I were both confirmed by Paul at Palos Park Presbyterian, then when Paul and Lavonne moved to Omaha, our families were able to continue with our close ties and friendship. Dr. Lundell ministered to my father during his final days and at his funeral in July, 1995 he gave the most beautiful eulogy I could have every imagined. I will greatly miss this amazing and spiritual man.
