John Cunningham Obituary

John "Mark" Cunningham, 49, of Ringgold, passed away suddenly on Friday, May 26, 2017. Mark was born 1968, in Athens, Ga. He was of the Methodist faith. Mark was V.P. of Sales at Bankcard Solutions Inc. in Hixson. He was a gifted musician and enjoyed playing guitar, singing, and writing songs. Mark also enjoyed drawing, painting, working in the yard, exercising and authored 2 books. He earned his B.A. in political science and his Master's in education. He was a member of Sigma Nu at Georgia Southern University. While living in Athens, Ga, Mark served as a 7th grade history and special education teacher at Hilsman Middle school and also coached football at Clarke Central High School. Mark was the president of the Chattanooga Edge B.N.I. chapter in Hixson. He is preceded in death by his father, John Mell Cunningham.

Mark is survived by his wife, Ann Daniel Cunningham; mother, Geraldine "Deanie" Kesler Cunningham; stepsons, Charlie and Daniel O'Steen, Ringgold; sisters, Pam (Bo) Cunningham Hendee, Atlanta, and Tami (Jim) Cunningham Kellogg, Atlanta; nieces, Meg (Blake) Quigley, Allie Hendee, Emily Ann Kellogg; and great nieces, Blythe and Wynn Quigley.

A memorial service will be 2 PM, Wednesday, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ken Cross officiating.

The family will receive friends 5-8 PM, Tuesday, and 12-2 PM, Wednesday, at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.
