Richard Griffeth Obituary

Danielsville Richard Roy Griffeth, 83, of Danielsville, passed away at Cobb Healthcare on May 20, 2011. Mr. Griffeth was born on October 6, 1927 to Robert and Ollie Monore Griffeth in Danielsville. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the USS Tidewater. He was a heavy equipment mechanic and the former mayor of Danielsville. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Bob Burroughs Griffeth, of Danielsville; children Doug and Patty Griffeth, of Bethlehem, Don Griffeth, Bob Griffeth, and Robin Griffeth, all of Danielsville; grandchildren Lacey Griffeth, Douglas Griffeth, Allison Griffeth, Harley Whitehead, and Colt Whitehead. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Saturday, May 21 at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, May 22 in Danielsville Memorial Cemetery with Rev. John Resser and Rev. Herman Nations officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Danielsville Baptist Church or the charity of your choice.
