Jannie Bowen Obituary
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 12, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Crawford Baptist Church with Rev. David Shiver officiating. Burial will follow at Peterman Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rod Quinton, Geoffrey Quinton, John Quinton, Buck Smith, James Smith, Bobby Arnold, Charlie Arnold and Jonathan Hill.
Born in Lexington, she was the daughter of the late George Ruff and Bronnie Woods Peterman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Billy Howard Arnold; brothers and sisters, Dick Peterman, Bill Peterman, Elm Walker, Ruth Smith, Ruby Smith and Polly Smith. For 28 years, she was the owner and operator of The Hut and member of Crawford Baptist Church. She was an avid gardener and was well known for her beautiful roses.
Survivors include her daughters: Brenda Quinton of Covington, Linda "Judy" Morrell of Covington, Judy Lynn McCoy of Monroe, N.C.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Lord & Stephens, Crawford, is in charge of arrangements.

Jannie was always kind to me and let me be part of her family. I am so glad I got to spend Thanksgiving with her and her family. God bless you girls in this difficult time.

I'm sorry for your loss. I worked for Ms. Janie several times during her ownership of The Hut. I often thought of her after she moved. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. God Bless.
