Myrtle Thompson Obituary

Myrtle Smith Thompson, 87, of Athens, GA passed away Monday, May 5, 2014.
A native of Putnam County, GA, Mrs. Thompson was the daughter of the late Claude and Naomi Hicks Smith and was preceded in death by husband, Otis F. Thompson Sr. She retired from West Clock.
Survivors include sons, Frank Thompson of Eatonton and Jerry Thompson of Watkinsville; daughters, Marleen Long of Athens and Kaye Bush of South Riding, Virginia; sister, Katherine Teet of Gastonia, NC; 9 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11AM Friday, May 9th at Normaltown Community Church with Pastor Ryan Wright officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-11AM prior to the service at the church. Graveside services will be held at 2PM at Pine Grove Cemetery.

Myrtle was a long-standing member of West End Baptist Church. She was a Sunday School teacher, a choir member, and a faithful supporter. I shall miss her and so will her beloved dog JoJo.
