MILDRED SHORE Obituary
Mildred "Millie" Shore, longtime resident of Fullerton, CA, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, October 28, 2015. Born November 23, 1926 in Van Nuys, CA to Robert & Anna Eckert, Millie was the oldest of their five children. She graduated from Van Nuys HS and attended UC Berkeley, where she met the love of her life, John Shore. They were married April 5, 1947. They resided in Taft, CA and San Rafael, CA before settling in Fullerton, CA in 1968.
Millie loved being a fulltime wife and mom of three very active sons. In 1972 Millie went to work as a secretary for Inmont Corporation. She retired in 1988 to start her new role as Grandma Shore. Millie's interests included sewing, gardening, writing (typing) letters, and traveling. Millie especially enjoyed spending time on the family property in the Tecachapi Mountains; although, Millie had many hobbies that kept her busy, her number one passion was her family. She loved them and loved taking care of them. Her daily question was, "How are my boys today?" With a husband, three sons and two grandsons, Millie adored her boys. Her grandsons held a special spot in Millie's heart (as I'm sure she does in theirs).
Millie is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, John; her three sons, Robert (Joanne) of Alexandria, VA, John (CarolAnn) of Placentia, CA, and Jeff (Wendy) of Placentia, CA; mother of her grandsons, Terrie Shore of Brea, CA; two grandsons, Michael Shore of Brea, CA and Thomas Shore of Lamoni, IA; siblings, Roberta Galvan of Santa Rosa, CA, John Eckert of Glendora, CA, Sarah Simpson of Holland, MI, and David Eckert of Tehachapi, CA. Millie has many additional family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
A Celebration of Millie's life will be held at the Shore residence in Brea. Please contact a family member for further information. In lieu of flowers we ask that you make a donation in Millie's name to a charity of your choice.
