He was a mentor to my son for many years, as Kevin spent afternoons and weekends at your home, and I will always be grateful for John's kind and gifted influence on the boys. John was an extremely gentle, loving and brilliant man... I knew him through Madeline and was lucky to call him a friend... When we would get together at our friend's functions, he was always up and pleasant and never had an unkind word about anyone... Dear Mad,
Words are difficult to find at this time to convey our sympathy for the emptiness you are experiencing now. What a great guy John was and how blessed we were to have known him and shared a bit of his life.
You and I have been friends since elementary school, Post (remember?) and have grown up going on to school together later. I remember when you introduced me to John at the CSULB student union . He with his long hair and army jacket playing chess. I knew you were smitten and he was perfect. A real keeper.....All these years later with some work a lovely family formed.
Cherish all the memories you all created together,good and not so good ones, they will help heal you. He will continue to be with you in spirit and in your heart guiding you.
We love you Buddy: and lean on your family and friends. Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal.
