Chandler Moisen Obituary

Moisen, Chandler Stuart, 54, was born October 18, 1955 in New Hampshire and passed away at his home in Newport Beach, CA. Stuart is survived by his sons, Chandler and Matthew; parents, Chandler and Dolores; brother Stephen (Gretchen); sisters, Virginia (John) d'Arbeloff and Margaret (Michael) Hughes; nephews, Benjamin and Samuel, and nieces, Kaleigh, Margaux and Abigayle. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at 10:00am at St. John Vianney Catholic Church on Balboa Island. Stuart spent his youth in Barrington, Rhode Island, where he loved the ocean, hockey and especially golf. A most favored caddy at the Rhode Island Country Club, he was also a member of their State Championship Caddy Team. After graduating from Babson College, he began his career at Peat, Marwick and Mitchell. Later joining management at the Vail Corporation in Vail, Colorado, his favorite accomplishment was being part of the team that developed Beaver Creek Ski Resort. Moving to New York City, and later Denver and California, he was independently involved in Municipal Bond financing and Tax Advisory. A loving family member, a supportive and giving friend, Stuart will be always in our hearts, sorely missed on powder days, and never forgotten. To the Moisen family,
I met Stuart over 25 years ago and we remained good friends since. We shared many experiences and travels, and remember the times I visited him in Tiberon, Castle Pines and Newport and him visitng me in Guam and Saipan. I counted him as a true friend giving and generous. I remember him tracking me down in Ca. in 2003 upon hearing of my heart surgery just to make sure I was doing well. He was always proud of his love for his sons and the love of his family.
Eternal rest grant unto to him and offer my prayers for his soul as it journeys home.

To Stu's family,
I am deeply sadden to hear of Stu's passing. I had shared many experiences and will never forget him. In all the years, he was always proud of his love for Matthew and Chandler and the love his family gave him. He was a true friend who never judged and I hope he knew I counted him as one of my true friends throughout his life.

I remember the first time I came out West on my own, in the Summer of 1980, I got a little "derailed" in Vail with my cousin, Stu. We had a wicked good time for about a week, highlighted by the "Beaver Ball", which kicked off the publicity around the future Beaver Creek ski area. Stu was a grand host then, and again years later when I moved to Colorado and he had a condo in Vail. Other fond memories include him following the Grateful Dead thru Chicago when we were in H.S., and my old beater breaking down on him after the show. But that summer of 1980 was when I really had a chance to know him, and learn first hand what a large-hearted man he was. Keep on truckin, Stu, and say hey to Jerry for me up there! Your cousin Tommy.

Matthew and Chandler,

I am very sorry for your loss. I new your father from working with him at my gym/therapy facility. And am saddened by his passing. He loved you both and would speak with me in length about how he was proud of both of you.

Stuart always had an uplifting spirit when he came in to see me and I always looked forward to working him.

If you would like to talk about anything give me a call anytime (949 400 0687).

Sincerely,

Steve Murphey

I am truly sorry to hear of Stu's passing. We were classmates as well as fraternity brothers. Although we weren't close since our college days, we had recently reconnected through Facebook. To his family, you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Best regards,
Bill Thurlow
