I met your father many times over the years. He was a very amicable gentlemen and always had a kind word went we crossed paths. I once played on a softball team that the agents formed back in the late 60's. The team name was Hanlicker Farms...which was a standing joke but maybe it had something to do with his affinity for the 4H, etc. From what I read, he had a full life and enjoyed his family immensely. God bless...

Mr. Hanlon was such a gentleman. I loved visiting with him at family dinners and hearing his fascinating stories about his FBI work and days in the US Navy. I remember him telling me how he met Princess Diana at Mr. Hammer's house and how she was a very sweet person. I am sure that Mr. Hanlon will be missed by all who knew him.

Phil was one of the finest men I have ever known. I worked with him in the FBI, Santa Ana, in the 1960s, and have maintained contact with him over the years as members of former special agents of the FBI. His smile and friendship will certainly be missed and my sympathies go out to his family.

My Dad loved your Dad! From their days at Manhattan College right on into their 80s. In looking through some of my Dad's recollections, I discovered that we may owe your family some money! Back in 1950, when my Dad was adventuring around the country with two buddies in an old Ford ragtop they'd learned to drive on the trip West from New York City, who did they call on to wire them money (not once, but twice!) but Phil Hanlon! And he sent it! Got them from Fresno to Reno and on to Peoria…Thank you, Phil! What a good guy…then, and always.
My heart goes out to all the Hanlons and to everyone who loved Phil.
With love,

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any man's death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.

Dear Hanlon family,
Please accept my condolences for the loss of your wonderful patriarch. I knew him through his relationship with my father, George, a fellow agent. Phil always struck me as the most jovial man I knew.
