CAROLE CHAVEZ Obituary

Carole Anne Chavez, loving mother, and wife, passed away with family surrounding her on 10/7/10. Carole was struck down by complications associated with her 35 year battle with multiple sclerosis. Carole was an honor student, top high school tennis player and a natural athlete. Carole married David Jack Chavez 53 years ago. They were Elsinore High School sweethearts and inseparable. Carole's primary focus in life was the care and gentle guidance of her family; husband, David; sons, Joseph, David; and daughter, Susan Morgan. No sacrifice was too large for her to make during her life as a wife and mother. Carole was an infinite spring of love. She was an excellent cook, full-time homemaker, pianist, gardener, seamstress, and Brownie leader. She loved to be involved in the multiple extracurricular activities of her children. Mom was a great example of a Proverbs 31:10-31 woman and of what true love is as described in 1st Corinthians chapter 13. Carole Anne was born in Glendale, CA on February 6 th, 1939. She spent some of her early years in the Seattle, WA area. She was raised mainly by her grandmother, Eve Nadis in Lake Elsinore CA. Carole was tutored in the fine culinary arts by her grandmother at Eve's restaurant known for their fine steak and chicken dinners. After marrying David J. Chavez on May 11th, 1957 they started their life together in Santa Monica, CA. They both worked at the TipTop Market, mom as a checker and Dad in the produce and meat departments. Kids came in fairly rapid succession thereafter. Their new family eventually moved to Orange County in 1960, living in Orange then finally in Anaheim. As all young families experience, there were trials and tribulations that stressed and strengthened their marriage. Carole enjoyed spending time with her two grandsons, Garrett Micah Morgan and Andrew Storm Chavez. Carole was supported daily at home the last five years by her husband, home care assistant Rose and daughter, Susan. The last few years required an immense effort and most spouses would have given up and placed Carole into a nursing home, but not our Dad. Even after Carole was bedridden and could barely speak she still would perk up and smile just at the site of her husband. Our family will always be grateful for the wonderful care she received from Dr. William Ford and the visiting nurses from Kaiser Permanente. Please submit donations to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Orange County, 17500 Red Hill Ave. Suite 240, Irvine, CA 92614 or The Gideons International P.O. Box 1785, Temecula, CA 92593-1785 in lieu of sending flowers. The funeral services and viewing will be held at 12:00 noon, October 16, 2010 at Memory Garden Memorial Park & Mortuary, 455 W. Central Ave., Brea, CA.

Carol and David have been a wonderful part of our L'Arche Wavecrest community in Orange County for many years. Our Core Members pray for Carol each night at dinner, and we will continue to pray for Carol and David and the family as they continue their journey in Christ.

When I think of Carole I think of a kind wife, loving mother and friend! Our children growing up together on the same street and entering kindergarten the same year was special! I can still picture Carol when Susie was in kindergarten riding up the hill with Susie on the back of her bicycle. No other Mom was so energetic to tackle such an endeavor!

Being a good wife and mother were very important to Carol. She loved the Lord and to think she is now with Him in heaven!...Carol put this verse into practice. I Peter 4:8 Most important of all continue to show deep love one for another
PS...David...Fred Jr would like your e-mail address to be able to contact you from Africa. Thank You

What an inspiration Carole was to us as you would roll her into the MS Support Group at EVFree Fullerton. She was so beautiful even in her latter stages of the malady. And you, David, were the epitome of what Christ has asked us to be as spouses. Always loving and giving. Your love for her was quite evident and a shining example for the rest of us. Thank you, family members, especially Susan and caregivers. Your lives, like ours, will forever be enriched by the experience of knowing her. We pray you'll be comforted and strengthened by the fact she is walking and dancing in Christ's arms in her heavenly home. What a thought! Lovingly, Dave and Lynn Reid
p.s. I, Lynn tried to attend her service at Memory Gardens but couldn't find you. So sorry.

To the family, my deepest condolences to you. Although I do not know you, your Mother and wife sounds like she was a truly incredible person. May God bless her always and she is now an angel watching over her family!!
