Florence Mastromatteo Obituary

Mastromatteo, Florence Our beloved mother was born Florence Carmella DeFrancis on 8-24-25 in St. Johns, New Brunswick, Canada. She moved to Michigan after getting married in 1946. She was proud to become a US Citizen in the 1970s. Florence worked hard her whole life as a seamstress and business owner to give her family the very best. She raised her 3 children in Anaheim, CA and showered them with love. She was endlessly proud of her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. Florence was a member of the Sons of Italy Anaheim Lodge. She loved bowling, golf, poker, Palm Springs, and entertaining friends and family anytime, especially at Christmas. She was very passionate about the Lakers and sports in general. Florence died 12-23-10 in Fullerton, CA after a long illness. Florence was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Dominic, who died in 1990. She is survived by her children, Frank (Eileen), Maria (Gary) Sherwood, and David (Dean); her 8 grandchildren: Cathy (Wade) Sine, Brian (Nikki) Sherwood, Michelle McNabb, Marissa (Art) Soto, Christine (Seth) Weinrich, Dominic, Danielle, and David; and 7 great-grandchildren:Vance, Makenna, Denver, Caitlyn, Peyton, Molly, and Capri. She is also survived by her sister, Patrine DiMaio, many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, her sister-in-law Theresa Crudo and best friend Annie Gabrielli. She is now resting peacefully with her husband at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, Orange, CA. She was greatly loved and will be missed.The family would like to thank Dr. Ellie Farshidi and the staff at Windsor Gardens for all their wonderful loving care.

My deepest sympathies with your Mom. She was always so exuberant and always very proud of her children. She must have been a great support for you when she was well. We will miss her!
