George Sandors Obituary

Sandors, George Stephen, 83, of Fountain Valley, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2010 at the Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center with his family by his side. Mr. Sandors was born on July 30, 1927, the youngest son of Stephen and Pauline Sandors, and raised in Barberton , Ohio , with his sisters, Helen and Mary. A lifelong public servant, Mr. Sandors served 20 years in the US Navy and later joined the Public Works Department of Fountain Valley, CA, where he settled. A devoted family man, Mr. Sandors took great pride in his family and passed on heartfelt lessons to all he loved. Mr. Sandors is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rosaria "Sara" (Maniaci) Sandors; two sons, Russell Stephen Sandors (spouse: Linda), Stephen George Sandors (spouse: Karen); six grandchildren, Crystal Ann Sexton (spouse: Michael), Russell Peter Sandors, Brandon Sandors, Amber Sandors, Vanessa Ann Schulz, Heather Lynn Elkin (spouse: Matthew); two great grandchildren, Sienna Finley Elkin and Ryder Penn Elkin; six nieces and nephews, Stephen Farkas (spouse: Mary), Pamela LeBlond, Peter Poldruhi (spouse: Donna), Danny Maniaci (spouse: Angela), Mary Papp (spouse: Frank), Marcy Stevens (spouse: Nicholas); and many wonderful great nieces and nephews. Per his request, Mr. Sandors ashes will be scattered at sea. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to a favorite charity.

Gearge and I went to Barberton High School at the same time and sometimes we would hangout together along with Sonny Bergner.......I haven't seen him for 70 years but I have never forgotten his laugh( Unique)

George and I were Shipmates at NAS Groose Ile Mich. NAS Akron Ohio He was Best Man at my wedding Lost contact when were transfered to other Stations.
