It has been many years since I've seen Jim, but I remember him as a first class gentleman. I first met Jim back in 1977 when he hired me to work for the Women's Kemper Open as the tournament coordinator. My prayers and deepest condolences to Pam and family. God bless ~

Jim was the first person who came over to where I was sitting, on my first day as a member, alone on the patio at Bermuda Dunes CC and introduced himself and invited me to join his table that included Mr. Paul Palmer among others. That kind move broke the ice and soon I was an accepted and active member of the club. Over the years Jim counseled me on many subjects from proper club protoccol, etiquette on the golf course and introduced me to hundreds of members. He encouraged me to run for the Board of Directors of the club which I did becoming a member of the Board and eventually President of the Board.
Much more important that the club issues, were the personal discussions we had regarding life and integrity in all you do. Jim was a stalwart in doing things by the book. He counciled me on personal and business matters helping me form several new ventures that are in the final stages of breakthrough success. It is VERY rare in life when you meet someone who becomes a friend who never deviates from his morals and beliefs. He IS and WAS a Strong, Principled and extermely kind man. I will never forget the many privaite performances as the Texas Cowboy entertaining my guests at severak house parties he had attended. And finally, his very special efforts, picking up the majority of the expense, to bring Johnny Lee and his band to entetain the entire club over the past several years. In fact had it not been for Jimmy and his request for help from me this past year's appearance would have never happenned. It turned out to be a HUGE success and I only hope we can carry it on in memory of our great member, Cowboy Jimmy Poteet. God bless his soul and give comfort to Pam and their family.
