John was a very special individual. He meant a lot not only to the Security Division but to the County as a whole. The outpouring of support for John's co-workers and family is a tribute to the type of individual he is. He was always willing to go the extra mile and lend a hand where needed. I will miss you John, you are irreplaceable and are missed every day. Our short time together meant a lot to me. God's speed and rest.

God saw you getting tired a cure was not to be. So "HE" put his arms around you and whispered "Come to ME". With tearful eyes we heard you had passed away. Although you were loved dearly, we could not have made you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands put to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us he only takes the best. John we will miss your smile, your sense of humor. But most of all we will miss you. God has called you "home" may you be at Peace.

John Yount was a great man! I have a lot of respect for him. I can recall the first day we met at Fresno County, I trained him on a Security beat at UMC. He always spoke highly of his son Jason, his wife and the two grandkids. I can say John was a very proud father, father-in-law, and grandfather. John shared many stories with me that I will never forget. Stories of his childhood and his parents and their passing. He also shared stories of his son and his family. Racing stories and much more. He worked by my side on the 16th floor and always was by the book. He would always back me up no matter what. When we worked in the PACT Unit we were able to control all the 5150's with Johns assistance or we were out writing tickets. John always kept us up to date on Jason's progress at CHP and how he was so excited for him.It was my pleasure working with and knowing Officer John Yount. He will be missed. I am deeply sorry for your loss.
