Lovely to read this tribute of a life well lived. John Timmons French, Jack, looks much like his cousin, Brooks McCall, also a leader in his community and Presbyterian Church. Their grandmother, Irene Henshaw French, came to North Carolina from Massachusetts to work with a woman who started a school after the Civil War.
Such a wonderful heritage of generosity which Jack continued.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort. My greatest memory is spending summer break with Uncle Jack and Aunt Marilyn and playing with my cousin Kelly. It was 30+ years ago and I was about 10 years old but remember having the best time ever!

Paul Prudler and I had lunch with Jack about a year ago (the three of us go back 50 years)and he was still in the game, good smile, great laugh and a terrific sense of humor. He was a "good guy" in every sense.

My deepest sympathies go out to the entire French family especially my cousins John, Allyson and Stacey. For me, your Dad was always larger than life and a man to emulate. Godspeed to you, Jack.

Jack made a great impact on my life and as a member of the Board of Directors of Plaza and later Option One, learned of many others that he inspired to go on to great business careers.

"Papa Jack" was such a warm and caring man....I treasured seeing him and always felt so loved and welcomed whenever he greeted me. His smile just lit up the room and made me feel so special. I am so grateful to have known him. His touch and influence are evident on so many precious lives that I know, and his wonderful family is a truly lasting legacy.
I am praying that the Lord will wrap you in His arms and sustain you with His comfort. My love to you all.

Condolences to the French family. Jack was a generous man and a great leader, and a great friend and mentor to my mom, Dot. He will be missed by many.
