Kent Evans Obituary

Evans, Kent (10/17/49-01/6/11)-The son of Ray and Charlotte Evans, died Thursday morning, January 6th 2011. Kent was born in Grove City Pennsylvania and moved to Orange County in 1953 at the age of four. He received a BS in Finance from Cal Poly Pamona and worked as VP of Finance for Brentwood Originals for over 20 twenty years. Kent was an amazing, loving and compassionate father, brother, co-worker and friend. Kent's number one priority and love in his life was his family. No sacrifice was too high for their benefit, a lesson that he passed on to his children, sister and nephews. Kent's "stubbornness", perseverance and ambition helped him to accomplish his dreams to always care for and support his loved ones. Kent had friends from all walks of life and ages. He was known affectionately as "The Governor of the block" and thoroughly enjoyed the company of a good friend. Harley rides to Cook's Corner with a quick stop by Billy's at the Beach on the way home was a great place to find Kent on a Sunday. Sturgis with his children this past August will be a cherished memory. Kent also enjoyed taking his Porsche's on a drive up through the canyon or to swap meets looking for parts. Walks on the beach or a good glass of Chardonnay were favorite pastimes of Kent's. Kent will be greeted in heaven by his father and mother Ray and Charlotte Evans. He will be missed most by his daughter, Chelsea Evans; son, Cole Evans; daughter-in-law, Lauren Evans; sister, Gayle Conger; brother-in-law, Tim Conger; nephews, Tyson and Todd Conger. A Memorial service will be held at First Christian Church in Huntington Beach, Friday the 14th of January at 11:30am. In lieu of flowers please make donations in honor of Kent to the American Heart Association.

Nearly 11 years later and still not forgotten. Think about you so often when I look at my baby girl, already 10 years old. You were one of the first people I told when I found out...the day before you passed. You are missed.

Dear Kent,
I know you really didn't care what I was having for dinner, but your asking helped take the after hours calls to my home a little more pleasant and not just business. I will miss those calls (I never thought I'd say that) along with the talks we have had over the years. I will still have those talks with you and I know you will be listening. I will cherish each day that we have worked together and will miss you each day now that you are gone, but never ever forgotten. God Bless.

I miss you more than you could have ever known. You saw in me what I didn't see in myself. I am so grateful for that. I am glad to have known you, not only as a boss, but as a friend and "father figure" to my kids. Until we meet again.....

Dear Kent,
I looked up to you and trusted you and am so grateful for having had the opportunity to know you. I am a better person for the experience. I don't think you ever knew just how dear you were to me. I miss you terribly and my only solace is in knowing that some day we'll meet again. I guess I'd better start making up for the "far-too-good times" now to ensure I end up in the same place as you! ;) Missing you so much.

Dear Kent,

Thank you for all your caring, support, guidance and help. You are the dear "Governor of the block" no matter where the block will be as long as there is THE Kent Evans.
Miss you more than I can express here.
Somehow, I just feel you are smiling up there affectionately and your light is still protecting us. Thank you.
In peace and gratefulness,
Li Ting (Foreston Trends, IT Dept.)

He was more than just your Boss he was your Friend. I will greatly miss him and will think of him often. Work will not be the same without his smiling face and questions of How are you? and What's New? May he forever remain in our hearts. All my Love to his Family..

Kent, where you used to be, there is a hole in the world, which I find myself constantly walking around in the daytime, and falling in at night. I miss you like hell. So I will say this, goodbyes are not forever. Goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean I'll miss you. Until we meet again!
