William Solesbee Obituary

Solesbee, William Donald aka "Bill", "Billy", "Billy Boy", "Willie", "Papa", "Papa Bill", "Holmes",and "Honey", 67, of Placentia, California, went home to be with His Creator and Lord on Sunday, December 5, 2010. He is survived by his loving wife and soul mate Nancy Louise Solesbee, his loving children Kelly (Marcel), Kannon, Spencer (Carrie), and Sarah (Travis) and adoring grandchildren Hannah, Sam, Max, Gabriella, Corbin, Trent and soon to be arriving baby Oba. He was born October 28, 1943 to his parents William Arnold and Betty Solesbee of Placentia, California. He is survived by his siblings, Carole Nay, Larry Solesbee and Peggy Smith, and their families, as well as the entire Knauft family. He attended Valencia High School, Class of '61, worked as a draftsman and salesman, amongst other things, but most notably, a popular and beloved "Handyman at Large". A member of the United States Marine Corps, Bill was a super patriotic person and a proud veteran of the Vietnam War. Bill always put others ahead of himself – his family and friends alike. His colorful humor, infectious laughter and generous heart will be missed by all who loved him. He was famous for his taco parties and his role as Santa Claus at the annual Solesbee Christmas Party. Bill loved life, most of all his family, friends, NASCAR, Fox News, cigars, wine, the right to bear arms, parties, the open road, his bus, his country, Harbor Freight, duct tape, maps, salvaging everything and anything and most of all, his grandkiddos. A celebration of his life will be held at Rose Drive Friends Church at 4:00 pm, Friday, December 10, 2010 - and in true Bill fashion - we request that you come casual and with a smile! In lieu of flowers, we invite you to make a donation to The Cancer Society of America, Rose Drive Friends Church, or should it suit you (as it would Bill!), the NRA. McAulay & Wallace Mortuary
