Was in town this weekend and I went and watched a little league game at Costa Mesa park.
(Now named Luke Davis Field)
A flood of memories came to mine which all included Steve. Luke Davis was always around to teach baseball back in our day. I can still remember Steve practicing sliding on a off day, wanted to be the best. Fun times, sad he is not here to reminisce. RIP my friend, you are missed.

Hi Gail - I still reacall living in the area and cycling with Steve - but more importantly - also shareing stories about our kids (mine Noelle and Matthew) and how happy and satisfied we were to be new parents to lovely kids. I have not seen Carson and Simon is years, but as recently as last month ran into Steve on the road and enjoyed a few "Can you believe how big our kids are" stories.

In highschool Steve was part of a foursome with Dan O'hare, Dave Dickel. and my stepson, David Dinius. What fun they were to be around and feed.Steve was full of vitality, so easy to like. The world was a better place with him around. Sincerely, Mary A. Dinius

Dear Gail, Carson and Simon,
I send you all my love and deepest sympathy.

Steve was always so nice to me and seemed to really enjoy and respect my deep friendship with Gail.
I was touched by his immense talent with drawing. He was quite a gifted artist yet so modest about it.
I remember when he did a Nevada City bike race when I'd go up to visit at Combie.
I remember water-skiing at the lake and having a lot of fun with him.
He was a great athelete and loving father and husband.
You are all in my thoughts and heart.
All my love,
Dede (Madeline Horton)

Gale, Carsen, Simon,
My biggest regret was not staying more in touch with Steve after I moved to SLO.
He truly was a man that I looked up to. His generosity was something, anytime I needed help he was there for me. Steve had friends from all walks of life. Today I went thrugh my color slides of Steve racing just to be with Steve again.
Carsen and Simon have a lot of their Dad in them.

To Steve's family and friends ~

Our hiking group was on the trail the day Steve passed away and we had made one of the several calls to 911 that morning. Though none of us knew him, his passing has touched each one of us. On our hike today, our group paused for a moment in honor of Steve. We send to you our deepest condolences.

Gail,

You don't know me but Steve was a very good friend during our high school years. I met him through a couple of mutual friends who knew him from playing baseball. I am truly sorry for your loss.
