Doris Pearsall Obituary

PEARSALL, MRS. DORIS, 98, of 19431 Garretts Mill Road, Knoxville, MD, died April 22, 2011 at her home. Born December 17, 1912 in Laurens, NY, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Maude Fuller Brightman. She attended Laurens Central School and was a member of the Laurens Methodist Church. Doris married Robert J. Pearsall on September 15, 1931. They lived and operated a dairy farm in Westford, NY for seventeen years. Following Mr. Pearsall's death in 1971, Doris moved to Orlando, FL where she lived for thirty-five years. Mrs. Pearsall traveled widely with her sister, including trips to the Holy Land, Bavaria, Hawaii and the Caribbean. Mrs. Pearsall moved to Knoxville, MD in 2006 to live with her niece, Donna Brightman and her family Courtney, Reid and Turner Hirsh. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, Robert and Hillary Brightman of Orlando, FL, Ralph and Laura Brightman of Laurens, NY, Donald and Georgia Peet of Sidney, ME, Sharon Swift of Oneonta, NY and Nancy and Jim Fraize of St. Charles, AR. Doris was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters, Louise Hare,
Juanita Peet, Kendal, Gordon and Donald Brightman. Burial will be at Laurens Cemetery, Laurens, NY. Arrangements will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Hospice of Washington County, Inc. Online condolences accepted at
