I was Jim's Chief Petty Officer on the USS Constellation and USS Ranger. I lost track of him until another shipmate put us back in touch several years ago. Jim was a hardworking sailor, liked by all his shipmates and I'm sure he was just as well-liked in his later endeavors. Although I did not get the chance to meet him in later years, I will always remember him as a great friend to all and he will be sorely missed.

God speed my friend. Though I didn't know you personally, we shared the same sea. I was RVAH 6. I'm sure you will be watching over your family as we did each other many years ago. God bless and keep your family.

It's really tough to loose a family member, but I also believe it's hard on our crewmates to loose a valued and trusted friend. If I'm not mistaken, his foot prints are on a lot of WestPac and Med Ceilings!!!! Fair Winds and God Bless!

I didn't know James as a friend but I am saddened at his passing. We served a mighty Navy at the same time on some of the same ships. Again my heartfelt sorrow at your loss.

I met Mr. Traweek at my law firm. He was one of the nicest people I have ever met. His wonderful attitude and outlook on life was truly amazing. I am so sad to find out of his passing. Whenever he would come to the office, I loved to sit and talk to him. He was just a joy to know. I'm sure his family and friends miss him deeply. May he rest in peace.

"Jim worked for me at Thomas Lumber-Winter Park. He loved talking about his faith and his family. He loved Dawn,Javier and the grandkids more than anything. He always talked about watching the grandkids play ball. He had a great attitude in all he did.
Jim really liked listening to gospel music and now he's singing to the Lord with no worries about his health!"

Dawn Javier thank you for allowing me to say good bye to one of my oldest friends. Jim and I have been friends for over forty years; We both have been through a lot in our lives. Your Dad was truely a light in this world to everyone who came across his path. I am still in shock and pray God's arms to surround and comfort you and your family durning this time of loss. Your Dad & I had a lot of great times in business; playing poker; just breaking bread and enjoying his company. I will miss talking with him; However, I know I will see him again in Heaven. May God Bless you and your family.

Jim was a great guy, always anxious to help anyone. Back in the late 70's he made wood hot tubs that we sold. He also crafted cabinets for our home and office. He even helped our customers relocate Racoons that we getting in their pools. I remember he used to play Santa too. He will be missed.
