LILLIAN PRADERA Obituary

PRADERA, LILLIAN "LIL"
ELLEN,
66, of Altamonte Springs, passed away peacefully and was called home to the Lord on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 with her family by her side. Lillian was born on June 12, 1944 to her late parents Karl H. Gartner Sr. and Verena M. Gartner (Pfeffer) of Newark, OH. She was head majorette when she graduated in 1962 from Lakewood HS in Hebron, OH. Lillian was a very dedicated mother, housewife and a very proud grandmother. In years past Lillian also competed on
female tennis teams in the Orlando area. She is survived by her loving daughter, Maria J. Pradera (Steven) Shewmaker; son, Brock Travis (Gretchen) Blackmore; sister,
Bonnie L. (Bill) Diehl of Heath, OH; brother Karl H. (Jane) Gartner
Jr. of Granville, OH; her loving grandchildren, Eryn, Laya and
Katie of FL; and nieces and
nephews of Ohio. Lillian thoroughly enjoyed working with her second family at St. James Cathedral
Rectory. She rejoiced daily in her strong Catholic faith and was
always helping and inspiring others. She loved playing and watching tennis, being involved with
her grandchildren, fishing, walking, the beach and spending time with her family and friends. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, May 20th at 10AM at St. James
Cathedral, 215 N. Orange Avenue, Orlando, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to St. James Cathedral.

My memories of Lillian are when we were kids in Ohio. Many days spent swimming in the river and sledding on their hill. What a great childhood. I will always remember that smile and and her laugh.

Its hard to believe that I will never see Lillian's warm smile or hear her hearty laugh again. She was such a loving, kind and generous friend to our family for over 35 years. We will miss you Lillian.

I am fortunate to have known and be considered a friend of Lillian's since our meeting at Northland Community Church in 2004. She was a Woman of Great Christian Faith and Character, with a True Servant's Heart. Her smile and personality will always be remembered and cherished! God blessed us with her memories!

My Aunt was a wonderful woman who will greatly be missed by every one that she touched in and around her life. She now can be with her Mother and Father and others that have passed before her, though she will not be forgotten down here.

May we take time to reflect on how one person can cause a small ripple in our lives, but a wave when they are taken away. Please accept my condolences; Uncle Bud, Maria and Brock and to your families.
