I had heard a lot about Ranger Stan and on our last trip to WL we finally met him. What a wonderful man. The Wilderness lodge lost a piece of its Disney magic with his passing. Thoughts and prayers to his family.

The earth has lost a wonderful man with a beautiful soul and smile. We said our goodbyes just prior to his "retirement" from the lodge and have missed his smiling face for the 2 years since but he has gone to another calling as "greeter" Our best to the family and thanks for sharing him.

As we talked, we discoved our like faith in God and we had a wonderful time of sharing about the Lodge and about Jesus. His smile warmed the heart of whoever it touched. Like so many others, I met Ranger Stan at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. From our first visit, it was obvious that this was a kind, friendly and gentle man. Getting to talk to him over the years, I also came to know his spirituality and deep commitment to God and family. In the words of Will Rogers, Stan never met a person he didn't like. And it was mutual, Stan. We loved you and will miss you.

Stan became more than just Ranger Stan to our family, he became a great friend. We had the honor of being Flag Family several times, and through those, we became friends for life. We are so blessed to have known him, and through him we met his dear wife Carolyn, whom we hold dear to our hearts as well. Stan, we love you, and we will forever hold the Lodge as not a place to stay, but the place that allowed us to earn a friend that impacted our lives forever. We looked forward to the day of reuniting with you in His Glory.

We were very saddened to hear Ranger Stan is no longer with us, but he does live on in our wonderful memories of him.
I was lucky enough to meet him during our first stay at WL, and took his tour. During our 2 stays at WL, we've had many wonderful conversations, and looked forward to seeing him. Such a wonderful man.
Our last time we were at WL he told us he was retiring soon, as we stood at the entrance of WL we had another wonderful conversation. So much so we almost missed our bus to the airport!
God bless.

My condolences to the family of Ranger Stan.
We were lucky enough to meet Ranger Stan on a few visits to Wilderness Lodge, and finally had the honor of the flag raising shortly before he retired.
We live not to far from where he lived before working for Disney, we got to talking about the area and he asked us to guess where he worked as a welder, we got it right and had the privilege of being the only ones to date to guess it. We laughed about this for a bit.
Thank you Stan for all you have done and the lives you have blessed.

Thank you Ranger Stan

Dad was the best man I knew. With Stan, what you saw, was what you got with him. He was no phoney. I was saved because of him. I couldn't marry his daughter 38 years ago unless I was saved and a Christian. I know where Stan is and I can't wait to see him again. He truly lived a spirit filled life.

July 28, 2011

Sweet Poppop,
I'm going to miss you so much! You were one of the most amazing men I had ever met and you always kept me smiling. That wonderful smile of yours will never be forgotten, neither will those stories you always tell. I know you are in the most amazing place right now, probably fishing! Say hi to the big man for me. I love you with all my heart. I know you will watch over me as my guardian angel always.

I miss you Stan "the man". You never realized how much those of us who were blessed to know you and work beside you counted on your wisdom and encouragement. You truly were a man of the Lord and a great example of what being a christian means. You are truly missed by all; especially your family and beloved "sweetie face". May God be with you Carolyn as you mourn the loss of the love of your life and his going home to be with the Lord.

July 28, 2011

Carolyn and family,
Stan was a great friend, a real encourager, and will be greatly missed by all of us at the church and as a former choir member. My prayers and thoughts are with you and the family during this time.

Please, let me know when the service honoring Stan will be.

God be With You.

Ranger Stan was one of the highlights of WDW. I once took his tour and told him afterwards he was awesome. He teared up. He truly was a genuine person and Walt Disney would have been proud of this wonderful cast member. Stan you have enriched the lives of so many people. To your family I hope you can take comfort in your memories.

July 28, 2011

While I only knew him as Ranger Stan it was a joy to meet him and talk to him at the Wilderness Lodge. I had the pleasure of going on his tours and we got to do the Flag Family 2 times with him and had a wonderful time. Just to spend the little time we did with Ranger Stan was such a joy. He will be missed and thank you for sharing him with us.

My condolences to Carolyn, Stan's beloved "Sweetie", and the rest of the family. Ranger Stan was such a part of the Wilderness Lodge experience, and truly a gentle man and gentlemen. He touched so many in wonderful ways, and will be truly missed. I have fond memories of seeing him in the Lodge, and being able to sit down with both Stan and Carolyn this past December in the Carolwood Pacific Room with several fellow WL "Groupies" during a get together we had. Listening to his stories once more was a treat and a treasure. God bless you all as you move forward in these days ahead without your beloved husband, father & grandfather - a friend to all.

Rest in peace, Ranger Stan
