Paul L'Homme Obituary

L'Homme, Sr., Paul 77, passed away December 23, in his home in Casselberry after battling pulmonary fibrosis for five years. He was born in Gardner, MA on May 23, 1936 to the late Emil and Dianna (Vezina) L'Homme. He attended Gardner High School from 1951 until 1954, joined the National Guard in 1953, enlisted in the Air Force in 1954, and retired as a SMSGT in 1980 after 26 years of service. He worked briefly for the Orange County Sheriff's Dept. and then for the USPS in Orlando from 1982 until retirement in 2000. While in the Air Force and stationed at Loring AFB, ME, he met a young widow, Shirley Ramsey, who became the love of his life for 52 years. When he chose her as his bride, he also chose to love and raise her two daughters, Lynda and Brenda, as his own. Paul is survived by his wife, Shirley; daughters Lynda (Wayne) Holcomb, Brenda (Robert) McLintock, and Paula (Paul) Dawson; son Paul Jr. (Barbara) L'Homme; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brothers Emile (Ella) L'Homme and Roland (Cheryl) L'Homme; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Public visitation will be from 11-12 on Thursday, December 26, 2013, at St Augustine Catholic Church, 375 Sunset Dr. N., Casselberry. I served with Paul in the AF at Loring AFB. He was my supervisor in the Jet Shop. What a great guy. We corresponded some as I know he did with many he served with. He was one of the most respected and liked guy you'll ever find. My condolences to Shirley and the family.

I worked with Paul during the 2000 Census and we became great friends. He was one of the sweetest men I have ever known. After the Census I thought I would never see him again, then in 2010 I saw him at the Lake Mary Census office. I was so glad to see him because I had thought of him so often. He loved his wife and family so much. My sincere sympathy is with his family. Rest in Peace Paul.

I am so sad to hear of Paul's death.
I work with Paul in the late 1980's
at the Post Office. You could count on Paul to take care of his workers.
May God's grace be with your family during your time of need.
