Unfortunately, it has taken me a couple of years to post this, but Uncle Ted has never been far from our thoughts. He was one of the main reasons I started running marathons and climbing mountains. One day, when my dad (his brother) was in the hospital, he asked if I was working out and I said "no". It took a few years but I finally did. We used to play chess together - he always beat me.
What Uncle Teddy did in his life was so special, he was writing code before anyone knew what code was.
I think my son's (who are developers) got their skills from his genes.
I know how much my cousin Barbara loved him, and watched over him - and especially my aunt passed away. I remember him and I going to Disney World in Orlando around 15 years ago and having a good time walking around and riding the rides.
Mostly though, I know Uncle Teddy as a good, kind, honest man who loved his wife and daughters and loved and lived life to it's fullest.
Truly his legacy lives on - not just in these words - but in our hearts forever.
With love and respect, Mitch

Ted,
I was a young man of 24 when we met at Trident Tech. Like most college graduates, I thought I was going to conquer the world. Your guidance and business knowledge helped me put life in perspective and got me started towards a very successful career. Thanks you Ted for all you did for me and many, many others.
Sincerely,
Bob Frankovich

I am so sorry to hear of Ted's passing;he was a great guy! I knew him from playing chess at Melody Manor and then later at the Library on Lee Rd. & Edgewater Dr. What a mellow and friendly guy & a pretty strong chess player to boot! He was the guy who kept the Blitz chess club going by taking the trouble to carrying the chess sets and chess clocks to the library every saturday rain or shine and from my point of view received very little credit and recognition for all the work he did making a lot of chess players, old and young alike, very happy and probably out of mischief on many a saturday afternoon. God bless you Ted and Blessings to the many family and friends who I know will miss you as will I!!
Your friend in chess,Walter 'the Wonderful'...(more or less)!

Ted Lewis was one of the finest men I've ever known. I cannot think of anyone I respect more. He was a talented instructor that was able to get the very best from his students and all of them that I know speak of him with respect and appreciation.
I consider myself so fortunate to have known him and to have worked with him.

My Uncle Teddy was a smart, decent and kind man. He and my father - his brother - were very close and my dad loved him very much. It would have been nice to have him closer to us in California so he could get to spend time with my kids but it was not to be. I always enjoyed talking to Uncle Teddy about the family's history and he did an amazing job of putting together www.lewislithuania.com - you should take a look so you can see the great history of his ancestors. He was a gentle, kind and brilliant man who blessed everyone who knew him. We miss you.

I Met Ted in 1975, when I Enrolled at Trident Technical College. I Majored in Computer Science & Ted was my Teacher for all of my Computer Classes, as well as some Management Classes. Ted & I stayed in Touch, until he moved to Orlando. We reconnected in 2007 & E-mailed one another on a daily basis. Ted & I would Exchange Christmas Cards & BirthDay Cards. Ted Congratulated me when I got Married, gave me High Praise for any Project I may have been Working on, had Warm Words of Sympathy when we had to say GoodBye! to a Pet of many years & was a Great Source of Comfort when my Older Son Died. I have several Friends, who were also Ted's Students, back in the 70s, whom I see several times a month. Each of them say things like: Mr. Lewis was an Inspiration to me!, Mr. Lewis Encouraged me Not to give up & to be the best I can be at whatever I'm doing! & Mr. Lewis gave me the impression he Cared about me!. I will say Amen!, to all of the above! And, I'll add this: My Life has been Better because of my Education at TTC; and, I think Ted had a lot to do with that! And, other than the Technical Stuff, Ted Taught me (& all of his Students) to Care about others. Not just the other Folks at Work; but, all other Folks. To me, Ted was my Teacher, my Mentor & my Very Dear Friend. There's Not one day goes by that I don't think about him; and, I Miss him! God Bless You, Ted!

Ted was a long time member of the Central Florida Chess Club. He played at the old chess club on Montana street for many years. He always attended the Christmas party dressed in his sweater and neatly pressed slacks. He was a charming, handsome man and friendly to everyone. Please accept the condolences of all members of the chess club.
Sincerely,
Larry Storch, CFCC president

With deep sympathy. May the words of Jesus found at John 6:40, bring comfort and peace to the family at this difficult time.
