MAYHEW, Arthur Paul 1918 - 2010 W.W. II Leading Aircraftman - RCAF Passed away with his family by his side on Sunday, October 17, 2010, at the age of 92. Beloved husband of Nancy (Jay) Mayhew for 63 years. Loving father of Edith (Ross Campbell) of Bristol, QC, Linden George (Kathy) of Bonfield, ON, and Roger (Jennifer) of Shawville, QC. Respected Grandfather of Trevor, Heather, Darren, Kimberley, Alex and Laura. Great Grand Poppy of Wyatt, Brody and Myanna. Predeceased by his parents, Charles and Adeline (Lemay) Mayhew. Survived by his sisters, Dora Greer, Marie Holoshka, Leona Milliken, Effie Stewart, Shirley Gordon and his brothers Gerald, John and Jim. Predeceased by his dear sister Muriel Cone and brothers Donald, Michael and Claude. Survived by his Aunt, Sarah Lemay Horner. Arthur was a WWII Veteran of the RCAF (LAC), serving from August 7, 1943 to May 8, 1946. He was also a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 162 in Campbell's Bay. The family wish to extend their thanks to the Palliative Care Unit at the Pontiac Community Hospital and to Esther for her compassionate care. Friends may call at W.J. Hayes & Sons Funeral Home, 134 Centre Street, Shawville, Quebec on Thursday, October 21, 2010 from 7 to 9 p.m., Friday from 2:30 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Saturday, October 23 to Shawville United Church for Service at 11 a.m. Interment Maple Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Dialysis Fund at the Pontiac Community Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
