Arthur Palmer Obituary
October 9, 1926 - November 22, 2015
Peacefully at home, lovingly cared for by partner Mary Simpson. Predeceased by wife Ursula (Schwedler) in 2001. Will be greatly missed by daughter Barbara (Peter Rousseau) and grandchildren Andrea and Scott.
Born and raised in Ipswich, Suffolk, England, Arthur emigrated to Canada in 1957 and moved to Ottawa in 1983. He completed his PhD in Metallurgy in 1971 and was an life member of the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. In his retirement, he was a very supportive member of the Unitarian Church and contributed to numerous organizations and causes.
Many thanks to the home care team, especially Joan. A celebration of Arthur's life will be held at 2pm on Monday, December 7th at the Unitarian Church, 30 Cleary Ave., Ottawa. Donations to the First Unitarian Congregation would be appreciated.
