Dear Michael, I am so sorry to have missed your father's service. Jack was a great teacher to me, while I was learning to become a Scientific Glassblower in NRC in past years. I always admired his skill and imagination. Please accept my sincere condolences.

Dear Mary and family,
Jack and Hélène would like to express our deepest sympathies to Mary and family for their loss. We first met Jack during a yacht sailing holiday about 40 years ago in the Caribbean. Since then we have only seen him a couple of times, but we remember him as being an interesting and fun person to be with.

I worked with Jack for many years at the NRC in Ottawa. He was an outstanding glass blower, working also with quartz which is much more difficult. He built wonderful equiipment for us, and it was always a pleasure to work with him because of his sparkling personality. The world does not have a lot of Jacks. I will miss him very much.

Deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Mr. Vandenhoff. Such a kind and gentle man. We shared so many great childhood memories of him. He made the best 'whistle dogs' of all time! He will be sorrily missed. Take care. Wayne (Cox)

Dear Mary. I am so very sorry for your loss. After speaking with you it sounds as though your final days together were filled with love and peace. I'm so happy that you both had that chance to relive fond memories and for him to pass with the full feeling of you love and support. Grief is a sign that we have loved and been lived well. May the coming days bring you solace.

You were there for Isabelle, Lyne and me, wish I was there for you. Alas can't be in two places at the same time. If your father was like the son he brought up, he must have been a great guy. I'm thinking of you and Jake in this sad time. My deepest and sincerest condolences to you both and your family.

I am sorry to hear about Jack's passing, he was a great guy to work with and I fondly recall working with him (and Mike) on various projects while working at NRC. I always admired his talent, skill, and patience and enjoyed visiting the glass blowing shop while working with IBS. My sincere condolences to all the family.

Dear Mary and family;
I'm so sorry about the passing of my friend Jack but glad that you were with him at the end also that Pat and I made it for a visit recently. Jack was one of the first people I met when I joined NRC in the early 60's and a small group of us usually played cards at lunch hour in Dr. Robertson's office. Hearts and Euchre were the games. I don't remember Jack as being the best player but he made up for it with his personality and sense of humor. I have many fond memories of Jack at NRC; all the glass blowing projects that he did for the labs that I worked in, his imagination and talent. Jack was easily approachable and always contributed ideas to the projects based on his experience and creativity and he handed the tradition down to his son Mike. Jack will be missed by his many close friends and acquaintances.
Please accept my sincere condolences
