Maureen OVENS Obituary
With hearts full of happy memories, we share the passing of our wife, mother, grandmother and sister Maureen Ovens on Saturday, July 22, 2017 in her 72nd year. Beloved wife of Ron, loving mother of Christopher (Lori), Tania and Colleen and adored grandmother of Kaitlyn, Jordyn and Alexander. Sister of Ken (Sharon) Lahey, Keith (Margaret) Lahey and Trish (Brian) Bridger. Predeceased by her parents Jack and May Lahey, her sister Janet and brothers Michael (Marjorie) and Richard. Maureen cherished spending time with her family and friends and enriched the lives of all with her love, kindness, and generosity. Maureen was a familiar and supportive member of the community. Through the successful berry farm that she and Ron started and ran for 38 years before their retirement, she spent her summers welcoming generations of customers who over the years became her friends. In the winter months, Maureen enjoyed making crafts, jams and baking that she shared with those close to her. Regardless of how busy Maureen was she always had time and endless love for her family. Anyone whose life has been touched by Maureen is invited to join her family in a celebration of her life on Saturday, July 29 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Osgoode Community Center. A private family funeral will be held at the Kars Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes on Wednesday, July 26 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Osgoode Care Centre or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Maureen was such a generous and giving person. She would bring me out a chair to sit on when I was picking berries and give us the remainder of her unsold berries at the end of the day at the market to make jam! We were privileged to have met the entire family and send our deepest sympathy to Ron and family. May you forever hold fond memories as the days move forward!

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate Maureen's life. She was a wonderful lady, great card player, great cook. She taught the Card Ladies many poker games. We know she will be looking down and laughing with us while we play cards, she will roll her eyes when we play Chase the Ace.
