Kalene, Jay, Alex, Monna, Julie, Carmen and extended family,

It took me until now to be able to read and sign Kaitlin's guest book without crying. Life just seems so unfair when a child is taken from us so soon. Your faith will give you strength to get you through this and your memories of Kaitlin will keep her alive forever. As you told me, she's in a better place--singing, laughing and playing in heaven.
Take care, good luck and stay in touch.
Love, Deb, Curt, Stef, Jaki & Mia

John and Family
I'm so sorry for your loss, I remember when you and your wife were trying to adopt and the day you came into the office (AMPS in Stuart) and shared with me that you might have a baby, then the next time I ran into you and your wife you had Kaitlin. May our Lord give you peace during these difficult times.

The service last night was beautiful -as is your Kaitlin. I want to stay in touch with you - like I said last night, I am glad that you are leaving but so sad that you are. I am so glad to be part of the RLC family b/c it includes families such as you all. I will miss, of course Kaitlen, but also seeing you in car line or in the lobby... my heart breaks for all of you....please use your passion and love to help other children like Kaitlin - I call my job at RLC my "fill me up Job". I wanted to say goodbye last night but knew that we would connect again...God bless you all....xoxoxo Tricia

God didn’t promise days without pain,
Laughter without sorrow,
Nor sun without rain.
But he did promise strength for the day,
Comfort for the tears,
And light for the way.

Our daughters are now friends where they will play for eternity.

We know exactly from where you are coming and where you have yet to go. Our daughter, Katy, walked out of our house in very similar circumstances, drowning in a retention pond on September 21, 2006. Our prayers and thoughts and pieces of our hearts are with you during this time. I know from news reports that you and your family are moving from the area, but if you ever need anything to get through this time, please contact us. Katy's website is www.katyfund.org. You can find all our contact information there. Be it a phone call or cup of coffee at 2am. We (and our church - Westside Baptist) pray that God holds your family tight to Him during this most impossible moment. My heart breaks for you.

It was such a pleasure to work with Kaitlin at RLC. She was a joy to have in class, with her gentle spirit and beautiful smile. Kaitlin expressed her love for music in so many ways...the way her eyes lit up when we started singing, to the way she reached for the guitar, to the way she jumped up to clap and dance! I will miss her dearly, but I will never forget her! I pray for God's peace and love for you in this time. With much love, Kristen (Music Therapist)

To The Bacile Family,
Athough I do not know you, or Kaitlin, I am deeply touched by her passing. From her pictures, you don't have to know her to see that she was an Angel even here on earth. My hopes and prayers were with you the second I heard the news that she was missing, and my heart sank on Sunday Morning.
God Bless you in these difficult times.
Look into the night sky, a brand new Star is shining down on you.

On Saturday night as I was helping to look for little Kaitlin, I prayed and prayed that she was just hiding somewhere. When I woke Sunday to hear the sad ending, it was heartbreaking. Although I never knew Kaitlin or her family, she has touched my life as much as anyone I do know. What an angel. God bless the family and help to get them through.

Dear Parents & Family,

I am a neighbor, living across Big Blue Trace, at The Shores. (All Saturday night we heard the helicopters overhead, searching for your little girl. We knew what was going on, because we spoke to a police officer, outside our condo. We prayed and hoped for a better outcome.) I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your young daughter. I am a long-time educator of small children, and so this tugs at my heart-strings, in an even deeper way. In my mind, Kaitlin is in Heaven, without Autism, speaking, sharing feelings, playing, and waiting to be with you, again.

An email arrived in my box last night, from my friend Gudrun. We have know each other since 1981 and share a true passion for teaching and children. Her thoughts were of the lovely visits with the smiling faces in the red rider wagon.

I felt her tears flowing as I read her sharing the events of the weekend.

I responded to her sadness and confusion with the best explanation and comfort I could. She has asked me to write you and I hope you and everyone will take comfort in what I share. My words come with great feeling and hope.

Our life, is precious and each of us have a gift or message we bring to this life. A child dying hurts greater than any death I know of. Each of us, have a purpose and a time. Lift your eyes from the pain, and think of what Kaitlin wants you to feel.

Without any reservation, I can tell you that Kaitlin was surrounded by angels and did not feel a thing! I know this because as a 6 yr old child I was drowning in a lake in Texas, my parents were on our barge, not too close by and as typical in a drowning state, there is no noise, no one heard me. But It was not my time.

Sometimes these little earth angels we call our kids, are here for such a short time, to humble us and make us aware of how precious life is. They are here to deliver a message to us, and make us aware of our own life's calling or new stage of growth.

As an Army wife, I was called on many many times to help a Chaplain comfort a family who lost a child, soldier or family member to drowning.

Before anyone blames themselves, or blames the water or any situation, please, honor the gift Kaitlin has left. A priceless gift we must see. My gift, from the time I was 6 was to learn why I nearly drown, and what I was to do with this message in my heart. This gift, one I take very seriously is one of the reasons I live for.

I work with and teach autistic kids, regular kids, special needs and adults how to make friends with and understand the relationship we have with water. It is my life's work.

~We are all connected and drawn to water. Water is faith, it is cleansing, it is part of our beginning, our birth, our nourishment, and, yes even in death.

Swimming is not a hobby, a sport or a part-time pleasure. It is a need, a safe guard. a part of us. However, the innocence without knowledge is often the victim. But I do believe those souls are our water messengers, and it is the survivors who carry the weight of the message. I love the water, remember, so did Kaitlin!

Kailin, was not alone, nor was I.

She has delivered her message and moved on. That little angel was not found Sunday. She left way before, her body was just a sign of closure, now, what can each of you do with this?

I beleive...~Bringing you all together, to make sure that another child or adult learns to love and be careful around the water is a very powerful message. I pray you heal and be her voice. Make a difference in her name. Do not let this break you part. Let it strengthen you.

You . . .
We . . .
Are 'Kaitlin's voice . . . '
