Family-Placed Obituary

DENIS C. SMITH Age 70, passed away peacefully at home on March 23, 2010. Denis was born on July 4, 1939 in New York City, NY to George and Virginia Smith. He had been a resident of Jupiter, FL for 21 years. He graduated from Manhattan College. He was Vice-President of Ciba-Geigy Chemical Company before starting his own plastic company, Republic Plastics in Lansing, MI. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Barbara and their four children, Dee Smith of Albuquerque, NM, Stacy (Joe) McNamara of Summit, NJ, Sean (Laurie) Smith of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Chris Smith of Milwaukee, WI and five grandchildren, Matthew, Liam, Emmet and Mabel McNamara and Grace Smith. The family will be receiving guests on Friday, March 26, 2010 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home, 250 Center St., Jupiter, FL 33458. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 27 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 13591 Prosperity Farms Rd., Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Barabra,

Florence and I are very sorry to hear about Denis' passing. I have great memories of Denis and REPUBLIC.

I still Laugh at the crazy things he did, he was a true friend and I loved him.

We will make a contribution to the Michael J Fox fund.

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any man's death diminishes me".
