Judith (Judy) Mardelle Hogan Miller, 86, received her heart's desire-- to be with Jesus face to face-- October 20, 2013. She was born to Julian Claude Hogan and Mildred Lota Allen Hogan Heihn in Little Rock, Pulaski County, AR on June 2, 1927. She passed away following several years of battling Alzheimer's. She was married for 52 years to Jule LeGrose Miller, multi-media pioneer and creator of the Visualized Bible Study Series ("the filmstrips"). Her gifts in drama, oratory, and spiritual wisdom, along with her love for home and hearth, made her the perfect help-meet for Jule. Together they traveled the country telling the story of Jesus, entertaining with magic shows which included spiritual applications, and training people how to lead souls to the Savior. Judy wrote 18 inspirational books. Her mentoring included teaching ladies' Bible classes till she was in her 80's. Loving her husband and their 10 children, 32 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren was her greatest joy in life. Survivors include her loving brother, Patrick Wayne Hogan, of Tallahassee, FL; her adoring children, Mark Miller (Jean) of Antioch, TN; Robin Miller (Ellen) of Columbia, TN; Julia Miller Wright (Allen) of Hunstville, AL; Laura Miller Grady (David) of Louisville, KY; Patty Miller of Pasadena, TX; devoted caregiver, Tammy Miller McGee (Jerry) of Pasadena, TX; Scott Miller (Terri) of Harrison, AR; Wendy Miller Talkington (Randy) of Arlington, TX; Todd Miller (Joy) of Searcy, AR; Susan Miller Powers (Steve) of Harrison, AR; grandchildren and great-grandchildren around the globe. Judy attended Harding University, Searcy, AR. She served with her husband in churches in Searcy, AR, Corpus Christi, TX, and Houston, TX. She was a long-time member of Southeast Church of Christ, Houston, TX, and a current member of Watters Road Church of Christ, Pasadena, TX. Visitation will be 4pm-7pm on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Forest Park Lawndale. Funeral services will be held at 10am at Watters Road Church of Christ, 3616 Watters Road, Pasadena, TX 77504. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Joy Allen Fund. Make checks payable to West 7th St. Church of Christ, 405 West 7th Street, Columbia, TN 38401 and notate for Joy Allen. In her final days she simply continued holding His hand, let go of her earthly garment, and stepped into Glory with the One she loved most.

I knew both Jule and Judy Miller when I was a member of the Southeast Church of Christ. I was known as Paula Akins back then. They were both very kind and loving to me during that time in my life. I still have several of Judy´s books in my personal library.
Their Christian legacy will live on.

So sorry to hear of your family's loss. I will always remember going with my dad, Louis Hefley, to sit beside him as he shared "the Filmstrips" and taught new or perspective converets. Although I never met her or your dad, I knew who they were and admired their dedication to the Lord.

Our hearts are sad at hearing of your loss. We have wonderful memories of both Jule and Judy during our years at Shaw Street Church. They were both such a blessing to us. We were just starting our years of marriage. Their wisdom and example of a Godly marriage and Christian home was a great influence on us. You have the comfort of knowing that they are both with their Lord today. Bless you and keep you memories close.
