Louise Shea Obituary

Louise Hutchens Marsh Shea Louise Hutchens Marsh Shea was born Wineva Louise Hutchens in Tishomingo, Oklahoma on October 16, 1933. She passed away on September 21, 2010 in the loving company of her husband, Earl L. Shea, her granddaughter, Greta A. Schimmel, and close friend and caregiver, Jaratsri Dawson. She is survived by her brothers, Richard Hutchens and Reid Hutchens; son, John C. Marsh; her daughter, Susan M. Schimmel; and grandchildren Lt. Kurt C. Schimmel and Katharine M. Marsh. She married USAF Lt. John C. Marsh, Jr. on November 15, 1953. She received her Bachelor's degree in music from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant and began her teaching career in Monroe Township, NJ. She started the first bell choir at the First Presbyterian Church in Cranbury NJ. In 1966 the family moved to Rancho Palos Verdes, California, where she purchased the Rolling Hills Nursery School and earned her Masters Degree from Pepperdine University. She was later appointed to the Board of the Los Angeles County Board of Education and started her career as a realtor with Carriage Real Estate in Torrance, CA. On March 2, 1983, she married Earl Leo Shea and went into business as Louise Marsh & Associates Real Estate until retiring in the early 2000's. Louise served as Treasurer of the Dramatic Allied Arts Guild of Long Beach, providing scholarships to fine arts students at CSULB and LB City College. Louise loved her church and faith and family dearly. Memorial services will be held at the Seal Beach Center for Spiritual Living, 500 Marina Drive, Seal Beach. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Dramatic Allied Arts Guild, 3812 Denwood, Los Alamitos, CA 90720.
