Mother, Grandmother, caregiver, counselor, friend,
Titles she not only wore but fulfilled again and again.
Her life was one of love, charity, patience and compassion,
It is one I most admire and will attempt in my own to fashion.
She spent her life tending to the needs of her fellow man,
She did so she once told me,”not out of sense of duty, but because I can”.
She took time out for each of as it was her family she did adore,
But she also loved her pets as she always had 3 or more.
Although we knew she had a preference for a certain breed,
She still could not turn away that pet, the one with a special need.
She had the talent and will to nurture, to heal, to bring back to life,
The animals cast aside, the misfits condemned to misery and strife.
She also had a love and appreciation for plants, trees and flowers,
We could always find her in the garden, planting and tilling until the twilight hours.
I will miss our family chats, her words of wisdom and the reminiscing of her childhood tales.
I will miss her encouraging words, her sense of humor and hearing of her latest triumph at the local store sales.
Most of all I will miss her smile, her laughter and comforting embrace.
We are honored to have known such a woman who gave us life, love and shared with us God’s grace.

So blessed to have had the honor to call her Grandmother as she was oh so much more than that to me and my family. I will cherish the memories of our time together and wisdom and love she shared forever in my heart.

She was the OR/Delivery nurse that was there when I was having my son Scott and in talking to her and the delivery doctor I found out that her son was married to my sister Violet. What a blessing she was to me since my husband Kurt and my mom Clara Lee Maag couldn't be in there with me...I still had family with me :-) May the Good Lord comfort her family at this time and for the following years to come that they will be with out their dear one. In loving regard to the family, Joanna
