DALE SACKETT Obituary

DALE M. SACKETT 87, Died peacefully on Wed., 4/6/11 at his home in Corona, CA after a long battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. He is survived by his wife, Connie, of 24 years and daughter, Linda. His first wife of 30 years, Dorothy, passed in 1999 and their son, Daniel, died in 2009. Dale is survived by a large extended family of 4 siblings, 5 stepchildren, 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. The son of Leonard and Cora, Dale was born in Long Beach but raised in Huntington Park and later in Bell where he graduated from Bell High School. He was drafted into the Army and served under General Patton as a non-commissioned officer from 1943-1946. Dale was the first in his family to attend college and graduated cum laude in 1950 at USC with a BS in mechanical engineering. He started his own commercial air-conditioning business in LA, which later was incorporated as Authorized Service Corporation. A traveler, art collector, amateur photographer, investor, contractor, engineer, and entrepreneur, Dale lived a full and rich life. He enjoyed cooking and entertaining friends and family, and loved to dance to the big band sounds. He took pride in his work and believed the only way to get ahead in life is to work hard at it. Quick to smile and offer advice, he enjoyed helping guide and shape young people\'s lives. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. Dale will be interred at the Riverside National Cemetery with military honors. Arlington Mortuary, Directors (800) 275-4648
