Edmund Uglik Obituary

EDMUND S. UGLIK Passed away peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 3 with family at his side. He was born in Lakawanna, New York to Polish parents, Anthony Uglik and Helen Wicinska. Survived by his wife, Barbara of 62 years; son, Barry of Riverside; daughter, Kerry; granddaughter, Corrin of San Diego; 2 sisters-in-law, Virginia and Josephine Uglik of Orchard Park, NY; favorite cousin, Dee Putnam of Melbourn, FL; numerous nieces, nephews, and their families. He retired from Union Carbide Co. after 25 years, volunteered for AARP, the Riverside Metropolitan Museum and Friends of the Riverside Library. A veteran of WWII, assigned as Seaman, Radio Operator for Merchant Marines aboard a ship tanker convoy which traveled around the world three times delivering war supplies. A highlight was receiving an honorable discharge from US Coast Guard for WWII service. He was passionate about humor, sharing jokes with others and laughter. A happy fellow, loved life, beauty of the countryside, polka and country music. Private interment in Riverside National Cemetery.
